Meet Michelle

Danbury Board of Education member and businesswoman Michelle Coelho is running to be the next Connecticut Senator from the 24th District.

Coelho, a first-generation Cuban-American wife and mother of three children, is a passionate advocate for strengthening public education while empowering parents.

As state senator, Coelho has pledged to work in bipartisan fashion to make Connecticut’s communities safer and more affordable. Her top priorities include defending our freedoms and liberties, supporting our law enforcement officials and first responders, as well as protecting local control of education and zoning.

A full-time project manager and developer with 30 years of real life experience in oversight and construction planning, Coelho wants to be a champion for small businesses across Connecticut by helping to create a friendlier, pro-job growth business climate.

Coelho’s husband Michael is a proud first-generation Portuguese and Italian American who was born and raised in Danbury.

The 24th District includes Danbury, New Fairfield, and Ridgefield.
